Products Description

Main Features

Stable Performance: BV wire possesses characteristics like resistance to acids and alkalis, oil resistance, moisture resistance, and mold resistance, making it quite adaptable.

Good Conductivity: Uses copper as the conductor, providing good electrical conductivity.

Suitable for Fixed Wiring: BV wire is a solid/hard wire, suitable for fixed installation scenarios (e.g., embedded in walls, conduit), but it is less flexible than stranded soft wire (BVR).

Usage Notes

Operating Temperature: During normal use, the maximum conductor temperature should not exceed 70°C.

Installation Bending: Pay attention to the bending radius during installation. Generally, when the cable outer diameter (D) is less than 25mm, the bending radius should not be less than 4D; when it is 25mm or greater, the bending radius should not be less than 6D.

Installation Environment Temperature: The recommended minimum installation temperature for the cable is 0°C.

How to Choose BV Wire

When selecting BV wire, focus primarily on the conductor and the insulation layer:

Check the Conductor:

Color: A high-quality copper core is purplish-red (red copper) in color. A lighter color, or one that is yellowish or blackish, indicates more impurities and poorer quality.

Thickness: For the same nominal cross-sectional area, a thicker conductor (excluding insulation) generally indicates better conductivity.

Inspect the Insulation Layer:

Feel the Surface: The surface should be smooth, not rough. Press it with your fingernail; a layer that springs back quickly indicates good thickness and toughness.

Bend Test: Take a piece of wire and bend it back and forth several times. Then straighten it and observe; the surface should not show significant whitening or indentations. If it does, it suggests poor flexibility and susceptibility to aging.

Product Models & Specifications

The model of BV wire is typically distinguished by the cross-sectional area of its conductor. Common specifications range from 0.75 mm² to 240 mm². The most commonly used sizes in home decoration are 1.5 mm², 2.5 mm², 4 mm², and 6 mm² wires.

The "B" in the name represents the Building Wire category, and the "V" indicates that the insulation material is Polyvinyl Chloride.
